Who we’re looking for ?
We are looking for a hands-on insurance professional who can quickly take ownership of insurance matters in a complex, construction-related and project-driven environment. You combine strong technical insurance knowledge with accuracy, curiosity and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders, brokers, insurers and experts. As part of CFE’s insurance team, you will handle the insurance matters of all entities of the Group and report to the Senior Insurance Manager while working alongside experienced professionals.
Your Responsibilities ?
Lead the placement and management of the Group’s insurance programs & policies, including negotiating policy terms, conditions, limits, extensions and premiums with brokers and insurers to secure optimal coverage for the Group (CAR, professional liability, decennial liability insurances, property all risks, D&O, etc.).
Support tenders and new projects by reviewing contractual risks, advising on insurance requirements and negotiating project-specific insurance solutions where needed.
Support project execution by providing day-to-day insurance advice, ensuring compliance with contractual insurance obligations and managing policy adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage insurance claims from notification to recovery, including claim assessment, coordination with operational teams, brokers, insurers, experts and legal counsel, and optimization of recoveries.
Ensure insurance related administration by reviewing brokers’ invoices, follow-up outstanding payments, monitoring the projects in the insurance-CRM, verifying endorsements, etc.
Act as a trusted business partner and subject matter expert, providing guidance, training and support to project, legal, finance, procurement, operational and management teams.
Provide reporting and strategic recommendations to senior management, the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee and the Board, including analysis of insurance costs, claims statistics, CAR project lists, budgets and risk-financing opportunities.
Support the management of workplace accident insurance across entities, including annual audits, statistics, coverage follow-up and coordination with brokers.
Define and implement the Group’s insurance and risk management strategy, ensuring that business and project risks are properly identified, assessed and covered through appropriate insurance solutions.
Monitor insurance market developments, regulatory changes and emerging risks ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of the Group’s insurance framework, practices and risk-financing approach.
Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, insurers and industry stakeholders, leveraging market knowledge and external networks to protect the Group’s interests and support its strategic objectives.
Your Skills & Experience ?
You have a law degree or a bachelor in insurance and a minimum of five years’ experience in an insurance or broker’s company or insurance department of a company, preferably in the construction sector. Depending on your background and experience, the responsibilities can be expanded accordingly.
You understand key insurance processes such as claims handling, policy administration, certificates, renewals and broker follow-up.
Fluent in Dutch, French and English and can communicate clearly with both specialists and non-specialists.
You are accurate, organised and able to keep track of multiple files, deadlines and stakeholders.
You are comfortable working with digital tools such as CRM systems, Excel, Word and other administrative platforms.
You are curious, dynamic and collaborative, with a practical mindset and a strong sense of service towards internal clients.
